Who’s Nina?
Well, I was born and raised in the south of Germany. My mum, who is originally from Panama, is the most awesome and strongest woman I’ve ever met. I love her so much and I’m grateful for everything she’s done for me. Yep, that’s her and me in the pictures 🙂
Aside from spending time writing for my blog, I’m a book-loving nerd and yogini, following a whole-food plant-based diet (check out and follow my mouth-watering vegan treats & healthy bites pinterest board!).
It’s more likely that you’ll see me hanging out in a relaxed coffeeshop wearing a comfy hoody, ripped jeans and chucks than dressed up. Probably reading a thick book with a cup of ginger lemon tea or good coffee right next to me.
Traveling and discovering beautiful destinations around the globe are really important to me, and I’m lucky enough to spend a lot of time now in Dubai, which is a great travel hub. Whenever I’m out and about, you’ll catch me documenting my trip; photography and videography are two of my favorite hobbies!
Most of the times, I’m a happy person feeling at ease and consider myself fortunate with how well things turned out in my life. That wasn’t always the case.
What does ‘A gorgeous Soul’ mean?
A lot of people have lost touch with themselves in this hectic and stressful environment, they forgot their real mission in this world. They barely take a moment to reflect on the true purpose of their lives or to be grateful and instead take everything for granted. I was one of them. But before I dig deeper into my past, let me quickly explain the meaning of ‘A gorgeous Soul’:
‘A gorgeous Soul’ stands for the journey of finding your true self and creating a smashingly beautiful life full of happiness, inner strength, and amazing relationships.
Mindfulness, self-love and a healthy lifestyle are the magical ingredients that’ll help you succeed.
How did I reach that conclusion? Read on, my friend…
How I learned to let go and to move on
Although I grew up as a Catholic, I don’t consider myself a religious but a spiritual person. I do believe that there is a power greater than us which I call God; others might call it the Universe or differently.
Having been raised in a culturally mixed household shaped my personality big time and gave me some interesting insights: I learned from a very young age about not fitting in and know the feeling of not belonging to any kind of social circle too well.
Due to being different and other personal problems, I developed some self-destructive behavior over time. In my early 20’s, this led to too much drinking, a lot of crying, and having toxic people around me, who pretended to care for me only to let me down, when I needed them most. On top of that, I really struggled with society’s stereotypes on how women should behave, look like and what they should accomplish.
In 2011/2012, I hit rock bottom. My parents finally divorced, which got me close to a depression, really stressed and anxious (although the divorce was definitely for the best). This took me to the point where I knew I had to change something.
I started to read a lot of self-help books and sought help from a therapist. I learned to concentrate on mindful practices, to surround myself with like-minded individuals and to implement a healthier lifestyle. I also began to follow and study the lives of inspiring women, who stood up/still stand up for themselves and empower other women. All this took me several years. The most important lesson I learned so far is that everybody can achieve to live a happy, fulfilled and balanced life and to feel in sync with oneself.
Do you also want to create a life you love?
Pretending to be someone to fit in and hiding your true self only leads to feeling miserable. To comply with our materialist culture doesn’t ultimately lead to happiness. Meeting societal expectations is not important at all and evaluating your well-being/ success/ achievements by your rank in the social hierarchy won’t truly fulfill you.
What matters is simple: Being your true self, being surrounded by loved ones, finding your purpose and living up to it, health, kindness, gratitude, compassion, generosity, happiness and choosing love. None can be bought and we’re all worthy of ’em despite our imperfections. We simply need to show up every day and be ready to put a lot of work into our mindful transformation.
I’m going to help you getting there with all my heart and soul by creating and providing remarkable, relevant and insightful content.
Nope, I’m not an expert but a student and life taught me a serious bunch of lessons. I’m learning each and every day and I’ll continue doing so. Maybe we have some challenges in common, maybe you find yourself in a similar situation. I’d love to support you in any way I can.
My mindful lifestyle blog also features ‘worldly topics’ such as travel, food and yoga. I hope they serve as inspiration for your own life. I want to empower you to love yourself as you are: Let’s treat ourselves with dignity and respect, care for our wellbeing, accept our bodies, embrace our sexuality and be confident enough to reach for our goals & dreams!
I believe that we’re gonna be good friends and travel partners on each other’s mindful lifestyle journey, that hopefully takes us each day a bit closer to being the most gorgeous souls 🙂 Can’t wait!
