Hello there, I’m Nina.
I’m the face behind this blog. This is the space where you’ll find my thoughts and opinions about personal growth and social issues.
Some random facts about me: When I’m not writing, it’s likely you find me in a book or stationary store. I LOVE reading and am a sucker for cute notebooks, planners, stickers, you name it.
Ah and I also LOVE avocados – I could survive easily with a daily portion of creamy smashed avo on toast (which I only get to enjoy maybe once a week, sadly).
Let me introduce you to my site:
You’ve never been here before and everything seems overwhelming… There’s so much to read and you have no clue where to start.
Don’t you worry, I’m here for you. This page is like a tour through my blog castle (yes, I like fairytales and Disney despite their problematic world view).
I want you to feel like you found a save little corner in the vast internet world and be able to come back whenever you like to explore all the wings my blog castle has (even the West Wing, yes I trust you that much!).
What’s My Mission?
What’s driving me? Why am I creating content? Here’s what I believe matters the most in life:
Being your true self, being surrounded by loved ones, finding your purpose and living up to it, health, kindness, gratitude, compassion, generosity, happiness and choosing love. None of this can be bought and we’re all worthy of them despite our imperfections. We simply need to show up every day and be ready to put a lot of work into our authentic transformation.
I’m constantly searching for ways to add more authenticity to my life. Not only to feel better but also to overcome the struggles I face as a woman of color. Somehow society often wants me to be or look or act like someone else and I’m done with it.
I’m good enough and worthy the way I am. I believe that the more I’m true to myself the easier I can help to dismantle the patriarchal (and other societal) BS, one authentic step at a time.
This results in me reading, researching, and writing a lot about personal development, love & relationships, and, last but not least, about women’s rights, identity & discrimination. I also believe that authenticity leads to inner beauty, and I think real beauty comes from within – hence the name of this blog.
If you feel like you’re on a similar journey, I’d like to invite you to stay around and read through my content. Maybe you find something of value that helps you to overcome your own challenges. I try my best to create and provide remarkable, relevant and insightful content.
Start by signing up to my online community here. You’ll then receive once, sometimes twice a month well researched & interesting ideas and resources as well as any updates like new blog posts I’ve written or videos I’ve published. Each newsletter is packed with thought-provoking, sometimes even controversial ideas, and I invite you to use them to start a conversation with those around you and even with me.
What does “a gorgeous soul” stand for?
‘a gorgeous soul’ stands for the journey of finding your true self, your inner beauty. Life gets a whole lot easier and awesome if you don’t have to pretend to be someone you’re not. Authenticity happens through asking yourself tough questions, through challenging and updating your value system and the beliefs you grew up with. If you’re willing to be honest and vulnerable with yourself and others and are not afraid of change, you’re well on your way to discover your authentic true self – and to live your authentic life as the real you. This is a very personal personal growth journey for which I’ll share the tools that I found useful and I’m sure will help you succeed.
